Sherry Goh

Violin, Viola, Musicianship skills

Meet Ms. Sherry Goh, a talented violist and violinist with a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts - Classical Music Performance from Sh Chien University in Taipei, Taiwan. Her musical journey at the tender age of 4 with the violin, and by 15, she embraced the viola under mentorship of her teacher, Hank Su. Throughout her studies in Taiwan, Sherry has had the privilege of learning from esteemed musicians, including Chun-Lin Yen from the Taipei Symphony Orchestra and Dr. Hui-Kang Ou Yang from Mannes College of Music in New York. Passionate about chamber music, she has also honed her skills under the guidance of renowned cellist Julian Schwarz and pianist Artemis H.R. Yen.

Chow Kar Yee

Head of FingerSmart department 

Ms Chow Kar Yee is a highly qualified music educator with a Bachelor degree in Classical Music Performance from UCSI University and Early Childhood Music Programs certifications. She is a certified teacher for FingerSmart programme and specialises in teaching piano and violin to our youngest students. Her patient and passionate approach helps to build their love, confidence, and knowledge in music. With fluency in English, Mandarin, Cantonese, Japanese, and Bahasa Malaysia, LMA is proud to have Ms Chow as our leader in this program.

Siew Wan Qing

Cello , Gu Zheng, Piano and Finger Gym 

Ms Siew Wan Qing is a highly qualified music educator with a Bachelor degree in Classical Music Performance in UCSI University. She is a cello and piano teacher and with a background in Chinese Orchestra, she is specialise in teaching Gu Zheng instrument. Her fun and engaging lesson cater to each student's interests and create supportive learning environment to students in all ages to achieve their musical goals. With fluency in English, Mandarin, Cantonese and Bahasa Malaysia, LMA is proud to have Ms Siew in our team.

Hank Su, Ren-Han

Violin teacher and conductor 

Hank Su, Ren-Han is a Taiwanese-born violinist and conductor with an illustrious international career. After earning a Master’s Degree from the National Taipei University of Arts and advancing his studies at the prestigious To-Ho Gakuen School of Music in Tokyo, Ren-Han studied under several world-renowned violin teachers. His exceptional talent has led him to perform across the globe, with appearances in Hong Kong, Japan, the USA, and numerous European countries, including Sweden, Finland, Germany, Latvia, Estonia, the Czech Republic, Slovenia, Poland, and Hungary. Ren-Han’s notable performances include invitations to the "Spring of Prague Music Festival" in 2002 and the "Poland Modern Music Festival" at Chopin Hall in Warsaw in 2003.

 

As a student, Ren-Han distinguished himself by ranking first at the Taiwan National Violin Exam and was selected for prestigious masterclasses with legendary musicians such as Isaac Stern, Szymon Goldberg, and Mischa Maisky.

 

Ren-Han is also a celebrated educator, known for his unique teaching abilities. His students have achieved remarkable success, securing scholarships to study abroad and earning top marks in international examinations. Many have won prestigious awards at renowned competitions such as the Sendai International Violin Competition in Japan, the Brahms International Competition in Austria, the T.S.O. Strings Competition in Taiwan, and the Qin-Dao International Violin Competition in China. With fluency in Mandarin , Japanese and English , LMA is proud to have Mr Hank Su in our team .

Alwin Wong 

Flute Teacher 

Alwin Wong is a flutist, music educator, and a licensed counsellor. He is actively teaching flute around Kuala Lumpur and serves as a part-time lecturer for several institutions. Throughout his musical career, he has performed with various ensembles such as the RTM Orchestra, Malaysian Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra, Philharmonic Winds of Malaysia, and Flutescents Flute Ensemble. 

Beyond his musical pursuits, he focuses his counselling on mental health, relationships, and at-risk youths. He has conducted workshop on managing music performance anxiety and mental health talk for the employee assistance program. Currently, he is collaborating with psychiatrists, psychologists, and musicians on project related to music reminiscence therapy and dementia. With fluency in English, Mandarin, Bahasa Malaysia and Bahasa Indonesia LMA is proud to have Mr Alwin in our team .
